January 20, 2009
LPS was honored to sponsor a special friend of the Hall family; Roman Cress, a resident of Minneapolis MN and former teammate of LPS' employees Justin Hall & Wil Kratz on the University of St. Thomas Track & Field team. Roman's parents met in the Marshall Islands while his father was serving in the military and moved to Minneapolis to start their family.
Roman was a hall of fame runner for South Minneapolis High School and earned an Academic & Athletic scholarship to run for the UST Tommie Track team from 1998-2002. In the year 2000 Roman was runner up in the National championships for Division 3 and was a medal winner in the Micronesian games. After failed attempts to qualify for the 2000 & 2004 Olympics, Roman's country finally qualified 5 athletes to participate in the '08 Beijing Olympic Games.
LPS was very happy to sponsor Roman and fund five months of his trainer dues for weight room &! on the track training/coaching. Roman rewarded LPS with a speci al recognition at his 'welcome home' party in September '08 amongst dozens of friends and family. Roman will continue to train through 2009 in preparation for the 2010 World Championships in Berlin, Germany.
